Zipp touts the Zipp 101 as the world's most aerodynamically advanced aluminum wheel and this latest version is compatible with cassettes of up to 11-speed to work with all modern drivetrains. A black hub, spokes and rim delivers a style punch that takes it to the next level.

The Zipp 101 uses cutting-edge aero technologies like a fully toroidal 30mm aluminum rim that out performs many deeper section carbon rims. This rim shaped helps the 101 save 42 seconds over a standard road wheel over 40 kilometers or about 25 miles. The 101 uses the Zipp 188 rear hub with Swiss bearings which is the same hub employed in their carbon wheels. Total weight for a pair of 101's is a surprisingly light 1530 grams.

Another critical detail about the rim not to be overlooked is its 23mm width. The 101's wide platform resists pinch flatting, improves lateral stiffness, and provides stable handling without tire "squirm" on rough surfaces. We have talked to many riders who choose the 101 primarily for the more solid handling it provides in criteriums and challenging mountain descents.
