The 240S hub is incredibly light and the freehub is easy to maintain. All parts and pieces are completely Swiss-made which makes the hub a long term investment that is both a pleasure to ride and service. This freehub body is specific for 11 speed Shimano cassettes, but can be shimmed to work with 10 speed cassettes by simply adding a spacer (which is not included).

The hub shell body is constructed from 7000 series heat treated aluminum that is anodized for further strength and protection from the elements. Inside the hub is a huge 15mm diameter aluminum axle that holds and supports the Kugellager Fiedler steel cartridge bearings. The freehub is made from alloy for weight reduction and internally, features DT Swiss's Star Ratcheting system. This proven design offers immediate response and engagement of the mechanism.

The black end caps remove without tools, as does the freehub body. This make taking apart the hub for service a breeze. All the internal parts are exposed for easy cleaning and reassembly.

Cosmetically it features a black anodized body and end caps that hold up to wear and abuse and clean up well after many miles of use. Updated DT Swiss red cross logo adorns the center of the hub body. Skewer not included.
