Look aptly described the 586 as the most highly tuned monocoque in the world. At Interbike, the hand-made 586 clearly stood out from other framesets with its elegant lines and precise attention to finish details. We are hard pressed to name a frameset that will ride better or exhibit better workmanship than the 586. The 586 retains a standard English threaded bottom bracket so any regular crankset can be used with no adapters or proprietary cranksets required.

Its low weight of only 940 grams allow the 586 to float up climbs and weigh less than 16 pounds when assembled with a standard build-kit. The 586 is more than stiff enough for professional racing but its real magic is its ride quality. Look uses their wealth of experience and VHM (Very High Modulus) carbon fiber to tune the ride of the 586 for both excellent comfort and global rigidity.

Another nice feature of the 586 is the Look Head Fit 2 headset system that allows for headset and stem adjustment independent of each other. The headset adjustment is executed via a threaded insert that is installed on the fork's steerer tube. This feature saves 40 grams through the elimination of the compression plug. The slightly larger 1 1/4" lower bearing makes the 586 a stable rocket on descents. An integrated E-post lowers weight and gives the 586 "super bike" lines.
