Great opportunity to own a fully heat moldable shoe at an almost unbelievable bargain. In addition to being heat moldable, Bont shoes are known for their industry leading strength to weight ratio, low stack height, lateral forefoot support, and medial longitudinal arch support. Limited quantities available.
This shoe is made by hand using Bont's monocoque manufacturing technique. Each layer of fiberglass is hand laid in different directions before being painted with resin and then bandaged extremely tight to remove any excess resin. The shoe is then baked in the oven for 45 minutes for curing. The light weight outer skin is then stitched and glued to the base. The result is a shoe that is one of the stiffest on the market and all for a very affordable price.
Bont cycling shoes have become synonymous with performance as leading athletes from within the pro peloton, track and triathlon disciplines have made it their preferred cycling shoe.
In addition to their industry leading ability for power transfer, Bont cycling shoes offer also the most anatomical shoe currently mass produced. Bont cycling shoes are made in the shape of a foot to accommodate a natural foot position and offer functional arch and forefoot support.
Inze Bont put his 30+ years experience in sports footwear and working on over 120,000 custom shoe into designing Bont road shoes. A special heat sensitive resin unlike anything else is used. This allows Bont shoes to be fully heat moldable at low temperatures. All that is required is an oven that can heat to 140-160º Fahrenheit. Once molded these shoes deliver a fully supportive, sock like fit that virtually eliminates hotspots and many other foot issues. The heat molded can be repeated as many times as required to perfect the fit.

Incredible shoe for the money. Feels stiffer than my carbon soled Northwave Extreme Techs. Moulding them was easy, following the instructions in the video on YouTube. One caveat: must follow instructions exactly. Rode them 20 miles the first day and felt power transmission boost from the first pedal stroke. Very efficient and low stack height. Velcro closures provide plenty of tension to hold foot in place. Had problem with the fit guide on Bonts web page. Followed instructions and came up with a size 46.5 for my size 13 foot. Ordered the shoes and they were not even close. Returned them and ordered the size 48s and they just barely fit. On the Bont sticker inside the shoes, it said that size 48 is comparable to size 12-1/2. Actual correct size would probably be 49. Shoes so comfortable that I nearly forgot I was wearing them, except for the amazing power transmission. In conclusion, after riding for 35 years and trying a lot of different shoes, I am buying Bonts from now on.
Pros: Mouldability, Power transmission, Lightness, Price
Cons: Few cooling holes
Bont's least expensive shoe is still light, has a ridiculously stiff thin sole, and has the same fit as the expensive models. Custom fitting is easy and repeatable. The cleat bolt holes are set back for rearward cleat placement. Most important, the shoe is built around a last that's shaped like a real foot.
Pros: Pro fit and performance at mid-level price.
Cons: Use your own insoles or footbeds, though.
My friend Patrick told me about these and said they're awesome. I took a chance because the price was so low. After riding them for a dozen or so rides, turns out he was right. Recommended.
Pros: Fit, price
Cons: Like to see them in all black
After doing the heat molding they feel great. They are also the lightest, stiffest (and at this discount) the most economical shoes I have used in the last 25 years or so. They work with standard Speedplay shims. But that's just me.
Pros: stiff, light, heat mold-able
Cons: cosmetic imperfections due to handmade nature
I really wanted to like this shoe! I was hoping this new design in a road shoe would offer all day comfort. Wrong! I have cycled for over 30 years and have used countless brands of cycling shoes----but never, never, have I worn a shoe that was this painful to use. After just 5 miles on the road, I had to end my ride and go home. The shoe had to be tossed in the trash. They are simply unusable. Buyer be ware!
Pros: none
Cons: very painful to wear
