Nobody understands the water resistant vs. breathability issue like Gore. They were the inventors of the eponymous membrane Gore Tex. It was the world's first membrane that let your garments breath while protecting you from the wet.

The Alp-GT features many anatomical panels so the fit is loose, but functional. By no stretch are these freeride shorts. The seat section is double reinforced for added durability and better wear times, it is also completely water proof. At the waist is an elastic, width-adjustable waistband with cord. Hem width h at the thigh is adjustable by easy-to-use covered cord stoppers and elastic draw-cord. The inseam length of the shorts is a longish 34cm.
