This single speed cog works on Shimano splined hub and compatible with all 6, 7, 8 and 9-speed chains. In essence, you would remove your cassette and install this cog with a spacer kit. Spacers would be position properly on each side of cog to adjust chainline. Simple and easy way to convert your existing Shimano hub to a single speed. Cassette spacers not included
