Colnago CX-1 EVO Frameset

The Colnago CX-1 frame blends old world construction with new school technology for a ride quality that is considered by many as the best they offer in the entire range, regardless of price or product placement. The main triangle has a monocoque carbon construction with oversized and shaped tubes. The unique shapes are both round and flat. The sides are a standard round shaping while the top and bottom are completely flat. This shaping technique is responsible for the stiff, yet comfortable ride quality. The rear triangle has two piece carbon section with a hollowed wishbone seatstay and squared off rectangular chainstays. The straight blade CX-1 fork is reminiscent of the older Colnago Star fork, however, much lighter and far more responsive. Colnago includes a short and tall carbon headset cap to help you dial in the perfect fit.

The way the cable routing is set up is as unique as the rest of the bike. If you run a mechanical shifting, the cables are external. If you run electronic shifting, you remove the front cable guides and run the entire cableset through the frame. The rear brake is always internal. The proprietary seatpost size calls for a special seatpost which is included. It is a lightweight carbon post and has the standard 25mm of setback.

All told, the CX-1 EVO is a special frameset. So much so, it was chosen by many of Colango's pro riders, including Tommy Voeckler for many of his most famous exploits. It is stiff, yet compliant and comfortable. It is light, but stable. It is well balanced and finding the perfect balance is what the CX-1 is all about. Frame, full carbon fork, headset with two height caps and carbon seatpost included.
