How do you take the amazing Craft Be Cool Baselayer and improve on it? That was the design challenge facing the team at Craft. The team was more than up to the task, as these people live to constantly push the boundaries, develop new fabrics and technologies, and stay ahead of the rest of the world. The Craft Cool Concept pieces introduces Movement Wing TechnologyTM and utilizes an amazing mesh fabric blend that maximizes the new design. In the dynamic moving areas around the neck and shoulders, the new fabric has different construction, and greater elasticity to allow complete freedom of movement, but without the rest of the piece riding up along with the movement. This fabric is called Mesh Superlight, and Craft uses sport-specific bodymapping in the design to truly understand the parameters required, and to ensure the best anatomic fit. The standard Cool Plain fabric combines with the new mesh to deliver the same 6 degree F reduction in surface temperature and instantly transport moisture away from the skin, out and away of the garment.
Effective moisture transfer and reduced surface temperature are certainly driven by the fiber technology, but if the Cool Concept Piece as loose fitting, you would never engage those technologies. That is why this form-fitting shirt also has light compression. The idea is that the fabrics need to stay on the skin, and the movements that these soft, elastic materials make along the body serve to actively move moisture. Panels are joined using supple flat-lock stitching that you barely notice, ensuring comfort and eliminating chafing. This is particularly true with the Movement Wing design. If you are a high-output athlete who works hard and needs the gear your wear to work harder to assist in optimal performance, the Craft Cool Concept Piece is for you.
