The Mavic Cosmic Carbone SL is updated with a new rim technology for 20 grams less weight at a new lower price. Exceptional aerodynamics are created by a 52mm carbon/aluminum rim built with 16 bladed spokes radially laced. The hub is made with both an aluminum axle and body with 12k carbon flanges fitted with Mavic's QRM+ bearings specifically designed for cycling. The QRM+ bearings supply legendary glass-smooth performance. The new Maxtal aluminum and 12K carbon rim has an aluminum braking surface for durability and optimal braking. There is also no need for special brake pads. The Cosmic Carbon SL wheel is a fantastic choice for an aero wheel with a solid ride and the very high build quality Mavic wheels are known for.

Beautiful wheels. I have only one complaint. They could be lighter. Other than that, this s the perfect set of clinchers. Fast, sexy, and they soak up the bumps better than I ever thought a set pf wheels could. My last set of wheels were a hand me down set of Sl’s and they were bomb proof. These are every bit as strong and aero to boot. Gusty winds are no problem in spite of the big cross section. Unless you have a ton of climbing to do. This is a great set of wheels.
