Fantastic value on the Cyclo-X aluminum from Lapierre. Being involved with Cyclocross for many years and sponsoring both national and former world champions, Lapierre has plenty of expertise and know-how when it comes to constructing a proper cross frame. Geometry, materials and construction are all proven in the field.

We managed to get a hold of several of these outstanding Cyclo-X frames at a great price and we are passing that value over to you. All frame tubes are constructed from Easton EC 70X alloy, while the fork features carbon legs and a butted Easton alloy steerer tube. The main triangle has shaped and optimized tubes with s-bend seatstays.

The cables are wisely routed on top of the toptube and the seatpost diameter is the now-standard 31.6mm. Bottom bracket is a BB86 so it works with 24mm spindled cranks (i.e Shimano Hollowtech II and GXP). Durable, high gloss black, white and red paint scheme rounds out the package. Superb deal on a wonderful cross frameset that is capable of winning races at any level. We bought all they had, so we are limited to quantities on hand.

Just buy it! I don't race cross anymore, I bought this as a winter training bike that I can also take on some dirt roads and a long rails-to-trails dirt trail nearby. For the money this is a no-brainer. The welds are very nice, and it is much stiffer than I expected (in a good way). The fit and finish is excellent, and it built up fairly easily with some old Dura Ace and other bits that I had laying around. Assuming the specs and geometry work for you, you really can't go wrong with this.

Pros: quality build, stiff, price

Cons: not the lightest but who care at this price
