This stuff is pretty utilitarian as far as race nutrition goes. It isn’t part of a fine dining experience (the Orange flavor tastes a bit like tang). It has enough crabs, protein and electrolytes not to need anything else for quite a while. Everything I need is in one bottle, which I found so refreshing after trying to take the approach of carrying a pharmacy in my jersey pockets: Electrolyte pill every hour, gel every half hour, sip of protein-endurance drink every 10 or 15 minutes and water or yet another energy drink for hydration and to wash all the other stuff down. I like to think I have OK bike handling skills, but how much sorting through pockets and swapping out bottles do they expect one can do while riding in a peloton or down a rocky trail? Anyway, it’s more simple and cost effective than the other name-brand sports supplement strategies, and more effective that the Gatorade/pop-tarts approach that I’ve also tried.
Pros: All-in-one nutrition drink for long rides

It helped me combat leg cramps in longer races and definitely helped me stay hydrated in hot and humid weather. However, it turns any hydration pack into a tube of glue. It tastes OK when cold, but as it gets warmer it gets nasty FAST.
