We put together this Di2 Build kit to give you what we consider the best basic kit, keeping value in mind. Outside of the Dura-Ace Di2 and 7900 components, you will find a selection of light and durable high end parts to satisfy almost any rider. All and any of these non-drivetrain components can be upgraded to your liking. You would just pay the difference between the part you want and the part included in the kit - it's that easy!
At the core of the kit is, of course, the Di2 componentry and all the parts needed for it to function included the necessary accoutrement like the battery and charger. Beyond that we added the Dura-Ace 7900 crankset/bottom bracket and 7900 brake calipers. To round out the package, we selected Ritchey's WCS alloy bar, stem, seatpost and Streem saddle. Wheel tasks are taken on by Mavic's ever popular Ksyrium Equipe wheelset with Continental's award winning Grand Prix 4000s tires.
When Di2 was first introduced a few seasons back, there were plenty of riders and staff members that had a wait and see approach. Let's face it, electronic shifting systems have been tried before and failed. After time and history with these components in our shop and witnessing them being raced heavily by pro teams in both Europe and here in the US, Di2 has proven itself to be reliable and to work day in and day out without issue.
Effortless shifting up and down the cassette, best front shifting to date and a self trimming front derailleur are some of the things you can expect from this fantastic group of components. Considering what your are getting for the price, we may even consider it a value.
