Road    Wheelgoods    Tires - Tubular

The Elite Ride tire from Tufo was designed to be an all around racing tubular with a focus on durability. It would easily fit into the all-season category if it were a tire for your car or truck.

The Elites casing is 3 plys of 210 tpi thread count poly-cotton for a smooth ride quality and added stability and surefooted hold while cornering. The super wide tread overlaps a good portion of the sidewall which adds stability, decreases punctures and gives the tire a unique look. Under the tread are two protective strips to keep road debris from puncturing the casing and internal latex tube.

Specially designed grooves in the tread pattern offer excellent traction in both dry and wet condition. This is an all around great choice in a tubular tire for any occasion.

Great tire.Hard to put on.Rolls fast, lite tire. It rides hard, but smooth. A snappy tire so to speak. It last for ever. It holds air for ever. In one month I had to put 2 pumps of air in it 2 to 3 times a month,,max. The tire lasted 8 months. 4,500 miles on it. Central Texas.Front and rear. All types of roads. Sealant works great, only way to go! Grips very strong, and not forgiving.

A great tire! I have put 2,500 miles on these tires without any flats (using Stan’s sealant) or undue wear spots. I have matched a Tufo in the front with a Conti GP4000 tubular in the rear and gone through 4 Contis while still using the same Tufo up front. I have ridden this tire in different conditions including gravel, asphalt, chip-seal, etc., and have had no grippiness issues. I have found that a good psi for my riding weight at 175lbs is about 125 psi. It may not be the silkiest, smoothest riding tire, but it is a nice quality tire that lasts, and lasts, and lasts. Use Stan’s sealant and only a major gash (which would affect clinchers or tubulars) will stop your ride.
