Strength to weight ratio and ride quality are the main focus of the Excalibur's design. Its oversize, round tube shapes and hollow oversize bottom bracket really make the bike jump when sprinting all out. The monocoque full carbon fork rotates on a oversize 1 1/2" lower bearing for rock-solid handling. Flex seat stays provide comfort that noticeably takes the edge off bad roads.
Ridley uses 30 and 24-ton high modulus carbon fiber to achieve a frameset weight almost as light as the Helium at a more friendly price. The Excalibur is Ridley's most popular frame and race proven in Paris Roubaix and the other spring classics. Over the years, Ridley has proven to be one of the best when it comes to balancing low weight and high stiffness without compromising strength.
Ridley was started a little over a decade ago by talented frame builder and painter Jochim Aerts. Jochim used his skill and a good eye for advanced racing technology to propel Ridley to become the market leader in Belgium is just a few short years - no small feat for a country that lives and breathes cycling. Ridley continues to pursue the goal of building the best riding bikes by collaborating closely with their riders to produce a highly refined product.
