What can we say other than this is one of the most exciting 'basic' high-end road shoes offerings since Sidi released the venerable Genius 5.
It features your standard issue, one buckle, two strap closure design. Upon close inspection, you will see the buckle is both low profile, but stout, easy to use and replaceable. The straps are off-set and have the D-rings positioned such, that they will not cause pressure points or hot spots. The upper is constructed from a Teijin AG100 ultra-light microfiber upper that will shape to the foots natural contours for a 'second skin' like fit. It is perforated for ventilation and breathability.
The 6.5mm EC90 outsole is constructed by Easton, Giro's parent company. It is super stiff and durable. The EC90 has a 3 hole mounting pattern with hash marks to get your cleats aligned properly.
The inside of the shoes features an anti-bacterial insole, used from the same material used in Giro's helmet pads. The insoles are dubbed SuperNatural Fit Kit and are provided with adjustable arch support shims to dial in the perfect amount of support. These are not custom insoles, but the next best thing. Giro has done their homework prior to releasing the Factor road shoe. It will no doubt put a dent the sales of other manufacturers offerings and is destined to be an instant classic.
