The Ridley Fenix is a new model that builds on Ridley's core values of reliability, stiffness and strength. This frameset balances comfort, stiffness and strength in equal measure and will more than satisfy the demands of a wide range of cyclists from sport riders to those on the pro tour such as acclaimed sprinter Andre Greipel who chose the Fenix for his Pro Tour campaign.
In many ways, the Fenix represents an evolution of their highly successful Damocles. It has the diamond shaped top tube and down tube that is brilliantly resistant to crash damage while contributing significantly to stiffness. Design updates include internal cable routing that is fully compatible for both mechanical as well as Di2 and EPS electronic shifting systems. There is even a Di2/EPS specific battery mount located on the down tube just in front of the bottom bracket.
New flex seat stays with a thin, horizontal profile provide a comfort zone between the road and rider. Massive asymmetric chainstays flow into an oversize pressfit30 bottom bracket for efficient power delivery that pro tour riders need for that extra edge. Ridley pioneered the use of tapered head tubes with a 1 1/8" top bearing and a massive 1 1/2 lower bearing that is now industry standard. The massive head tube area delivers high side stiffness for super stable handling and a secure feeling even during high speed descents. In fact, we have seen many marginal descenders dramatically improve when they make the switch to a Ridley.
A lot of Ridley's success story is due to their core values plus a geometry that works hand in hand with construction design to emphasize stability. In fact, Ridley became the market leader in Belgium in just a few years - no small feat in a country that lives and breathes cycling. The Fenix's geometry fits a wide riders extremely well and makes bike fits a snap. Cosmetics on the Fenix are exceptional with a gloss black unidirectional carbon finish pared with flashy white graphics.
