The Castelli Free Aero Race bibshorts are a result of many years of product development - much of it with the Garmin team. They recently took top honors in the bib short category in an exhaustive review by a respected cycling periodical.

Castelli uses three different fabrics in the construction of the Free Aero Race bibs. Castelli places Action Micro fabric in the saddle for long term durability. Breathe Micro fabric located on the front panels help airflow and moisture transfer. Side panels of Energia Micro enhance fit and help to provide performance-enhancing compression.

Other details include a light colored mesh upper that won't show through a jersey and reflective tabs on the legs. A new Giro3 gripper provides a better leg to short transition that comfortably keeps the legs in place.

The new Progetto X2 Air chamois has improved breathability and features a soft, stretchy, seamless, bacteriostatic layer next to the skin that prevents chafing. A cushioning layer put the padding in just the right places being thin at the edges gradually increasing to maximum thickness underneath the sit bones. Additional perforated viscous padding is located underneath the ischial bones and the sensitive perineum area.
