This quality GXP style bottom bracket from is a suitable replacement for any rider using a SRAM GXP crankset. It is an excellent value and features plenty of engineering and technology to ensure many trouble free miles. SRAM's Gutter Seal technology improves protection of the bearings from the elements and reduces drag.
GPX (Giga X Pipe) is a SRAM specific technology that builds on the outboard bearing style bottom bracket. It features a 24mm drive side bearing(similar to Shimano) with a 22mm non-drive side bearing. This design transfers the radial load to the drive side bearing. In turn, this optimizes bearing loading and power transfer while minimizing wear. The BB design only works with GXP style cranksets - it is not compatible with Shimano, FSA or other cranksets not using GXP technology.
Installation and removal is taken care of with any Shimano-style outboard bottom bracket tool.
The threads on this bottom bracket are for BSC-English thread bottom bracket shells only.
