A few years ago pro riders first heard the word Gabba and saw the product in action. Fast forward to the present, at this wonderful garment full of innovative features and fabrics, is now see everywhere from the pro ranks right down to club riders and enthusiasts. The reason being is due to the versatility, design and value. To sum up Gabba, we would tell you that it is an form fitting, aerodynamic garment that features complete wind and water resistance while providing breathability and thermal value. The Gabba WS jersey here can be worn alone or paired with Nanoflex arm warmers to make it temperature range go from 45-65°.
The front and rear panels of the Gabba WS is a proprietary Gore fabrics called Windstopper X-Lite that has been designed by engineers from Castelli and Gore with input from Cervelo Test Team riders. This magical material has thermal value, provides ample protection from the elements including water which literally rolls right off of the fabric. The Gabba will handle cold winds, wet road spray and straight up downpour. For added perspiration relief, Nanoflex is used under the arms. And as with all Nanoflex, the Thermoflex core provides plenty of warmth, while the Nanoflex coating acts as a wind and water barrier. Nanoflex is also water resistant due to the tiny microfilament grouping. One amazing aspect of this product is being able to offer all this protection while being one of the most aerodynamic pieces Castelli offers. It features a close to the body fit where there is no gathering or bunching of material, but a form fitting, tailored fit.
Although Gabba was designed for wet weather riding, the perfect mistake was then creating a piece that is superior in many other 3 season conditions, like cold, wind and times when it isn't raining, but wet roads and you're dealing with wheel spray.
Castelli Gabba is part of their Aero Race line of clothing, so you should expect an aerodynamic and very snug fit. Do not expect a relaxed club fit, unless you upsize the garment.
