If you're looking for one of the lightest clinchers available you should consider the Grand Prix Supersonic. It is not a modern marvel as to how Conti got this tire to a feathery 157 grams in a 23mm width - they removed all non-essential components. In this case, the non-essential components being the Vectran protective layer under the tread and 'excess' tread. In the real world, this equates to a tire that is superlight and more prone to flatting. You are effectively trading weight for durability in the field. While some riders have had success with the Supersonics as an all around tire, we recommend them for a race day, time trial or front tire only.
The amazing Black Chili tread compound is the highlight of the tire. It features tiny particles that conform to the road enhancing traction. It also makes the tread more durable and last longer. On the lightweight theme, Conti uses less tread to lighten the load. It gives a superb feel on the road but will wear quicker than other Conti's using Black Chili tread. The casing is 3 plys of 330tpi material which is flexible enough to give compliant road feel, but stiff enough so it will not flex in corners or under load. This also reduces the chance of pinch flats when run at proper tire pressure.

Excellent tire for racing or as a front tire for trainning. They do wear out fast if you use it for rear traing wheel. For training, I use this for front wheel and Force or GP 4000 for rear.
