The Iron Cross Team Wheelset is 1510 grams complete. It improves upon the original Editor's Choice-winning 2012 Iron Cross by adding stainless steel bearing to the 3.30 disc hubs and dropping the spoke count to a lighter 24 and 28 spoke lacing. The Rear 3.30RD hub is 11-speed compatible. They are designed for superior burp resistance with low pressure tube-type cyclocross clinchers. Any other tires will be somewhat difficult to mount. The 20mm internal rim width provides superior tire performance because it improves tire support.
This rim features short sidewalls and a wide inside rim cavity for lower tire pressure creating a firm tire feel with decreased rolling resistance. So in addition to virtually eliminating the possibility of flats, you get a leak-free seal with tubeless and better tire performance with either tubeless or with a regular tire and tube setup.
Bringing the world's best tubeless system to cyclocross turned out a little better than Stan's even planned. Stan's 3.30 Disc hubs, DT Supercomp spokes and alloy nipples keep the weight in the low 1500-gram range. Rear hub size is 135mm. Can be run with tubes or tubeless.
