The K-Zero has already scored a big prologue victory this season by team Europcar's Damien Gaudin at Paris Nice. This version has a standard FSA stem and Vision allow base bar so the stem can easily be changed for fitting. This complete bike is only a few hundred more than the frameset making it an excellent deal.
The K-Zero is Colnago's next step forward over their Flight TT frameset with a 7% improvement in stiffness and a 9% lower drag coefficient. To achieve these improvements designers employed modified new NACA (National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics) tube shapes. They also examined every other aspect of airflow and made a number of small improvements without losing the fundamentally sound ride characteristics, power transfer and legendary build quality that have made Colnago a revered name in the bike world.
The K.Zero features a low and aggressive front end for a very aero rider position. The brake calipers are fully integrated and out of the wind. The rear brake cable is internally routed and the chainstay mounted rear caliper is hidden just behind the bottom bracket with an aerodynamic cover allowing airflow along the underside of the chainstays. The front brake is neatly tucked on the included aero fork virtually disappearing into the crown/fork legs.
Even with its advanced aero feature, the K.Zero is easy to work on and travel with. It has a standard English threaded bottom bracket shell so virtually all cranksets/powermeters can be used without any special adapters required. The included seat post has a wide range of fore and aft adjustment plus it is completely removable allowing the K.Zero to easily fit in a standard travel case. It is compatible with all drivetrain systems plus internally routed electronic systems with a specific battery mount located on the bottom of the downtube just in front of the bottom bracket. There are two bottle cage mounts for hydration options.
