The Mountain King II is a good choice for an all-around tire that exceeds in all types of terrain and still manages to roll and corner like a race tire. It features a 2 in-2 out center tread which creates a stable centerline for the tire to roll on while simultaneously allows mud and debris shedding. side knobs have a staggered facing inline and facing out knob pattern repeated around the tire. This vectoring design allows for bite in cornering without giving that unstable feeling of flexing knobs when rolling the tire over on hardpack. The tread compound is Conti's Black Chili variety. If you are unfamiliar with Black Chili from the road side of the world, we can tell you that never will you find a more gripper and longer lasting tread.
For good measure, Continental designers added a layer of added durability called ProTection. It is a layer of thin and flexible material that encases the entire inside of the tire's carcass. It will not affect the ride quality, adds a little weight and a lot of durability.
