Take the standard Mountain King and add Conti's "ProTection" which is a ripstop-like treatment to the sidewall casing that prevents punctures and tears. It also beefs up the sidewall and stiffens up the ride. The aggressive knobs have the perfect spacing to shed mud effectively but also provide a sure grip in loose, dry conditions. They are made with the ultra high tech Black Chili rubber compound. The Black Chili compound allows better traction, longer tire life and improved rolling characteristics.

In short, the Mountain King is a wide knob spaced fat tire that excels in almost every condition, its big diameter, large volume casing floats across loose sand and rough terrain. Fairly light for a tire of this size - it's a big 2.2 and most tire companies would consider is a 2.3.
