Accessories    Water Bottle Cages

There are many advanced features of the Nanogram Ultra Light Cage. Primarily, it is less fragile than other light weight carbon cages. The Nanogram Ultra Light's simple, elegant design positions the water bottle stop at the top of the cage rather than near the mount where it is most vulnerable. The Speedplay Nanogram cage combines this design feature with the natural resiliency of carbon to absorb the repetitive impact of rough roads and from water bottles being stuffed into the cage with extra force. It comes with aluminum bottle screws and a BPA-free Nanogram logo water bottle.

Love speedplay products, unfortunately not this one. Had two, with the rubberized texture they held great- too great, they were always a pain. One of the cages was noticeably tighter, in less than a year it broke J.R.A.

I have two on my roadie and it holds my Camelback Chilljacket bottles fine. The Chilljacket bottles are just little fatter than the swag Speedplay bottles, so they’re held nice and snug, but release with no problems. And I’ve had zero clearance issues on my 52cm compact frame.

I stuck with this cage for over a year even though it’s rattled out several times. I wanted to like it because it’s the best looking cage out there. But what’s the point if it doesn’t do what it’s supposed to? This cage will not hold bottles. I’ve had enough. Making the switch to something else.

The cages are very nice, but do not hold bottles very well. If riding on smooth roads they are okay but any rough patches and watch out. I swtiched to them this weekend for a race and was having to keep checking my bottles.

Beautiful looking cage but it wouldn’t hold bottles. Not even the one that came with the cage. It shot a bottle out of the cage about ten minutes after riding with it the first time I put it on my bike. I tried it on both the down tube and the seat tube and the bottle kept inching out of the cage. Tried everything I could think of for a week but found myself constantly looking down to make sure the bottle wasn’t about to fall out which made for less than safe commuting since I need to keep my eyes on the road in front of me to avoid crazy cars. In the end I returned my cage and the wonderful people at Excel refunded my money.

I like the look but, the bottom of the cage broke ... seemed like it happened too easily.

Super light (the two that I bought were both 20 grams) and has a thin, grippy, "rubberized" finish that holds bottles well. I haven’t had any durability issues, so unless you’re a ham-fisted gorilla you shouldn’t be worried about breaking these cages.

This cage easily breaks! I was just putting my bottle and it just broke! I would not recommend this. I should’ve bought the Zipp bottle cages.

We have not experienced any problems(breakage)with these cages - ed
