The Campy cleats for your pedals come in two parts - The plastic cleat which guides the cleat and shoe into the pedal and the metal insert that locks the shoe into the pedal. These metal inserts are the actual piece that clips into and engages the pedal. These do not wear as quickly as the plastic part of the cleat therefore do not need to be replaced as often. These inserts include mounting hardware and the plastic cleats are sold separately.
