Once again, Castelli improves upon a proven design that brings it to the next level. In the case of the Poggia 3 shoes cover, more stretch was added to enhance fit and aerodynamics, while making it easier to put on over your shoe.
The main body panel has a PU-coated windproof & waterproof exterior with completely sealed seams. It has some elasticity, so the fit around the shoe is nice and snug with little to no bunching or gathering of fabric. The top cuff of the shoe cover features Castelli's Nanoflex fabric which is DWR water proofed and has a comfortable and warm slight fleece lining. Sealed side zipper is a clever way of providing shoe and buckle access. It also makes putting the Poggia on or taking it off a snap. Reflective piping and a rear pull tab round out the design.
Tear in the sole first ride and in the toe second ride. The above review is correct......great looking but NOT durable. As for the warmth, they are all that I need for temps >30 degrees and are easy to get on/off.
Pros: Looks, function
Tears in the shoe covers literally started occurring after 3 rides. Very poor quality. I eventually had to buy new booties from another company. I estimate the shoe covers would only last 1/2 winter, instead of 2 winters most shoe covers last.
Pros: Looks good
Cons: Poor quality
Like most Castelli products, the white shoe covers looked great initially. How stylish. Like many Castelli products, they are cheap. After three rides, small tears began appearing on both covers. Within a week, the covers were covered in 1-2 inch tears. After two weeks, the covers were in taters and are unusable.
