    Michelin Pro3 Race TS

Michelin's racing clinchers have always been known as one of the better clinchers for cornering and durability. Michelin's Pro3 race TS now raises the bar with improved durability and 40% more cornering grip compared to the Pro2 Race TS. Straight line grip has also been improved 20%. In addition to cornering prowess, we have also found Michelin tires very durable on the dirt and gravel roads around us in Boulder, Colorado.

Improvements in cornering grip have been made thanks to a High Density Puncture Protector nylon belt. Many of these benefits are a result of rubber compounds developed through research in Michelin's Moto GP division. These compounds are also more deformable so grip is increased on courser pavement while at the same time rolling resistance is reduced.

These tires feel great and are very grippy, the only thing I don’t like about them is poor milage, they don’t seem to last long at all, almost half of tri comps or GP4000

I’m on a second set of PS3 and I was able to get more than 2K miles.

I have had excellent luck with these tires. The ride is great and they are more resistant to flats than another comparable weight tire I’ve used.

These tires are very comfortable and roll without effort, even when lowering tire pressure. However, they are not durable. They are prone to cuts and gouges. They would be great if Michelin could keep the ride characteristics and offer better wear & damage resistance.

These tires grip extremely well, but I have to say I have has horrible luck with blow outs. Twice I have had blow outs (front) in corners going 25+ and suffered major road rash and bike damage. The first time the bead blew completely out of the tire. I am really frustrated with these tires and wondering if anyone else has had this issue?

I’m not sure what the problem is with those who’ve had so many flats? I’ve been riding Michelin Pro’s for many years and can only remember having two so called flats. One flat was from a pinched tube, it had nothing to do with the Pro 3. I was riding on lower air pressure then normal, for wet conditions when I hit a pothole on a descent. Another time I rode a rear tire to the point where it got so thin it bubbled on a ride, but never went flat. I put on a used one I carried as a spair. I just orderd two more which I will put on when they are delivered and keep the old ones for spairs or to use on my Mag Trainer in the Off season.

Very low rolling resistance. However. I have never had so many flats than with these tires. Even at 110 psi flats were problematic especially on rough roads. As a 190 lb. rider perhaps my weight is an issue. I put some 4000S’s on and and my return to flat free rides have returned.

Rode the original Pro Race, Pro Race 2 and now the Pro Race 3 and love them all. The Pro 3 grips so well around the corners that it feels like the bike is on rails. Wear is very good so far and seems like it is better than the Pro2. Absolutely a big improvement over the Pro 2 and best clincher tires out on the market. So far I have ridden 3/4 of this season on them and so far no cuts or flats. The Pro 3 is the lowest rolling resistance clincher tire on the market.

I had pretty bad luck with these tires. I loved the Pro Race 2s and thought they had good durability, but I have had 6 flats on the Pro 3s in only 1 month. They finally suffered a cut that was too big to butt and now the tire is toast. They are very supple tires, but probably just a racing tire and not recomended for training. Bring back the Pro Race 2s. I can’t find them anywhere now and I much prefer them to the 3s.

The durability of this tire is really impressive. I pulled a piece of brown glass the size of my little fingernail out of the casing of my rear tire at Salida after the TT. The gash was so big that 2 people stopped me to mention it while I was warming up for the crit, but not only did it not go flat, it held even on that nasty bumpy criterium course under hard cornering. I don’t recommend doing this, and I am not happy about throwing away a brand new $60 tire, but the hillbillies in Salida that throw beer bottles onto the roads aren’t Michelin’s fault and I will definitely buy these again.
