The Giro Prolight features an impressive design that is a remarkable achievement in both light weight and comfort. It is an incredibly light 184 grams in small, 204 grams in medium and 218 grams in large which is about 30% lighter than most premium helmets on the market. The low-weight and smaller profile of the Giro Prolight make the helmet better aerodynamically and practically disappear on the head.

The Prolight has a new Roc Loc SL retention system that is minimal, comfortable and effective. An elastic band in back and three snap baskets in front allow the helmet tension to be fine-tuned. 25 vents allow plenty of airflow. the vent holes are a little smaller than Giro's other top-end helmets, but Giro compensates for this with extra-deep internal vent channels that guide air over the top of the head.
