At under 800 grams, there is no 29er/2.35" tire that offers the shear grip and durability of the Rampage. The secret to the tires grip is all in the tread pattern. Running down the center is a row of twin tread blocks with chamfered leading edges offering a perfect blend of low rolling resistance and grip Widely spaced symmetrical blocks surround the twin center tread and then Panaracer uses a unique, dual combo block for the trailing edge to provide Velcro-like grip when you roll the tire over on edge. All of the tread blocks are spaced far enough apart to offer the rider ample mud and debris shedding ability.
The Rampage is made in the Panaracer factory in Japan to ensure top quality. The aramid bead mounts up to all rims and wheels with ease. We measured the tire and it comes out to the exact 2.35" as marked on the sidewall. Overall weight comes in at a lightest in its class 798 grams.
Panaracer has yet to give the Rampage the official Tubeless Ready designation, but we have had excellent success getting the Rampages to mount up to Stan's BST rims without issue.
