The Record EPS looks just like a standard Record mechanical front derailleur with the exception of the receiving unit mounted on top of the shifter body. The receiving unit is just that, a receiver. The derailleurs function is to receive input in the form of a digital signal from the EPS's DTI processor. This digital signal directs the derailleur to the perfect position for the perfect shift or trim for smooth flawless action.
The front derailleur features an M-Brace body for stiffness and a Z-Shape inner cage coupled with a steel outer cage for shifting prowess (and to seal with the powerful shifting force of EPS). The AFT, Anti Friction Technology gives a smoother glide and adds longevity to the cage. The profile of the cage has what Campy refers to as graduated curvature for near perfect shifting and allows the derailleur to be used with both standard and compact cranksets. Currently offer in Braze-On only and is compatible with all EPS components.
