The SRAM Red Double Tap shift lever set gains a new trim feature that allows fine-tuning of the front derailleur. They have also been enhanced with a new pawl geometry that instantly moves the front derailleur once pressure is applied to the lever resulting in smoother than ever shifts. With Red you can route the shift cables either on the inside or the outside of the bars where Force only allowed outside routing. Eight degrees of adjustment allow the shifters to custom fit any size hands including small hands. Sram Red Double Tap shifters are a great upgrade for those with Force or Rival groups.

    Buy Red shifters and rear derailleur now! I’ve always had Shimano stuff and have ridden the 7800 group since it came out. My right shifter wore out and I ended up replacing it with Red: What an excellent upgrade! If you’ve never used Red shifters try them. You will never go back: Crisp, sure and instant shifting. I kept my 7800 brakes and front derailleur and they seem to work better with the new shifter/brake levers too. The Red levers must have slightly different pull, because the stopping power is greatly increased (And I mean day and night difference). The front shifting with this set up is just as sure as the rear shifting with the 7800 group. Try them out and you’ll see what I mean.

    The rear shifting with these levers is unreal compared to force and rival, as well as the ability to adjust the reach for brake and shift levers. I am thoroughly disappointed with the front shifting, true they did add a trim in for the big ring but only by sacraficing trim in the little ring! What a huge bummer, I may try and get some force internals into my front shifter to get the little ring trim back!
