Rotor SABB Ceramic Bottom Bracket
The acronym SABB stands for Self Aligning Bottom Bracket. It makes perfect since when you think about it. The bearings are permitted to float within the cups for perfect alignment which in turn greatly reduces wear and drag.
The SABB bearings are held within ball-in-socket housings. This allows them to swivel into absolutely parallel alignment with each other. This automatic self-alignment of the bearing races occurs independent of any possible frame imperfections or stresses such as unparallel faces or non perfect concentricity of the threading in both sides and deformation due to excessive loading on the bottom bracket shell.
Quality of the cups are superb and have perfect threading. They are fitted with Enduro's ABEC5/C3 ceramic bearings which provide exceptional smoothness and durability. The center sleeve is made from high density plastic and attaches to the cups with O-ring seals.
Due to its simple design, bearings can be changed without the need of any proprietary tools. The simplicity of the design also keeps the weight down to a scant 92 grams - lighter than most bottom brackets currently available on the market. Installation and removal is taken care of with any standard Shimano-style outboard bb tool.
