The Zipp Service Course SL Bar is made of tried and true aluminum for maximum reliability. Zipp does not use just any aluminum. They employ their proprietary ZTL-71 alloy and intricate internal butting processes to achieve a weight of 260g (42cm) with superior strength and rigidity. It has a classic look with round cross-sections and a subtle anatomic shape that will appeal to a wide range of riders. Zipp calls the bend Short and Shallow, but is not like their other Short and Shallow bends. It falls somewhere between a decreasing radius bend and a true anatomical profile. Regardless of its namesake, the bend has proven to be very popular and extremely effective. Although the bends a slightly different, the drop and reach remain the same dimensions as a stadard Zipp Short and Shallow. The bottom of the drops are angled outward by 2º to reduce wrist strain.
Cosmetically, the bars are simple but effective. The finish is ball burnished with a black anodization. Oval Zipp logo on right side of stem clamp with a band style logo on the left side of clamp area give a staggered and non-symmetrical cosmetic look. Small measurement marks on both stem and control areas allow for precise installation. The Service Course SL bars area available in 42cm to 46cm widths and come in a 31.8mm bar clamp diameter.
