Worked great! Must use a lock ring from a cassette that had a 12t sprocket. Wish the spacers were just a little more heavy duty and a tighter tolerance to the freewheel body.

Worked like a charm. Just make sure you use a 12T lockring, or the spacers will not hold. (Read the earlier posters comment). Converted an old 7speed wheel/hub to single speed for about $20 with a Shimano BMX cog.

A simple and inexpensive way to convert a freehub for use as a singlespeed. I bought several of these to convert wheels for myself and friends.

I got this expecting to be able to get rid of all but one cog. Turns out, that just is not true. The rings are not the right size for the cassette lock ring to grab, so I had to put on the last cog to make it work.

This is the only way to go for converting a 8/9 speed hub to single speed. This set comes with spacers that are different widths to get the perfect fit. The only other parts needed are the BMX Shimano cog and a lock ring and you are ready to go!
