The DT Swiss RWS rear skewer features updated design, improved performance and Swiss quality. It provides up to 50% greater clamping force versus a conventional quick release. Unlike the 80 year old traditional cam design used on standard quick releases, the RWS builds up clamping force by tightening a bolt with a lever. The lever can then be raised and rotated into any desired position. To loosen the skewer and remove the wheel turn the red button counter-clockwise and then rotate the lever counter clockwise.
