This style brakeset is referred to as the "DP" - dual pivot calipers for front and rear. Although we have found the Single Pivot rear caliper to offer ample stopping power, Campagnolo decided some riders will need even more power for the rear wheel, hence this option.
The Dual Pivot calipers, on both front and rear feature a new designed brake shoe and brake pad compound and of course the bold red Super Record 11 graphics. Taking a cue from Shimano 7900 - the brake pads receive an entirely new compound for better grip in both wet and dry conditions, improving stopping distances as well as a longer life. A new brake shoe coupling/uncoupling system makes it easier to replace pads. Anyone who has ever replaced a Campagnolo pad knows this is a welcomed and long overdue improvement.
The Skeleton brakes have always been one of the highlights of the Campagnolo group. These Super Record brakes have a jewel like finish and super smooth action due to the fact they pivot on bearings - not bushings. Titanium cable anchor bolt and alloy Torx brake shoe bolts help keep the weight down to a scant 272 grams.
