The Cervelo T1 is available only through out Boulder, Colorado showroom.
The Cervelo T1 is Cervelo's latest track frame that delivers state of the art engineering and UCI legal, serious performance at an extremely affordable price. It features TrueAero Smartwall3 tubeset design for maximum aero benefit specifically at bicycle speeds. Smartwall3 aluminum tubing provides the exceptional stiffness needed to resist the tremendous force of the track and rider while also providing ride quality. The T1's frame geometry gives the immediate lateral reaction needed for negotiating around other riders while at the same time delivering stability when riding at maximum output.
The T1 is a pure track frameset with no bottle braze-ons or mounts for brakes. It has horizontal rear dropouts and the carbon fork has aluminum dropouts that hold up to nutted track hubs. The T1 has a gusseted headtube, multi-shaped top tube and a stout chainstay bridge that help provide the stiffness to blow away other track frames. The T1's TrueAero3 aero downtube, seatube, rear wheel cutout and aero seatpost give the extra aerodynamic advantage expected from Cervelo.
Virtually every employee of Excel Sports Boulder has ridden on the track in Boulder just a stone's throw from our location and we agree the T1 is one of the best values in a high performance track frameset.
Features
Ive spent a few days on the street on this frameset, along with a some races on the local velodrome. The first thing I noticed is that the geometry of the frame and fork makes for a VERY stable, grounded feel when riding. The bike handles tight and responsive, but is not twitchy or sketchy like my past bikes. The frame is not light when compared to other aluminum track frames. The 58cm frame comes in at nearly 2,200g. However, weight is not an issue on the track and does not affect my speed any different than riding a light frame. I cannot vouch for "feeling the aerodynamic difference" like Cervelo claims, but I can say that spending time on the track, I CAN notice a difference in the stiffness, mainly in the bottom bracket area. It simply feels more powerful and solid with each pedal stroke. Anyone looking to get a high-end frame, I would certainly consider this over carbon frames that cost 3 times as much. TOTALLY a good deal for all that you get.
