The Northwave Torpedo Plus road shoe features a comfortable upper with minimal seams, a light and stiff carbon sole plus a highly adjustable low-profile SLW2 closure. Talented designers at Northwave use Biomap technology where the uppers, soles and other components are anatomically compatible to a wide range of foot shapes to keep the foot in the correct position while pedaling for the most efficient power transfer. By keeping the foot in the correct position, all the muscles of the leg can work at their greatest efficiency.
A Carbon Light Sole is not only very light, but exceptionally stiff with extra attention to stiffness in the greatest area of pedal force. There is a textured surface in the cleat area to prevent cleat slippage. A toe pad and replaceable heel pad prevents wear when walking. Northwave also includes vents in the heel and arch area of the sole.
Thermoweld technology is used on the uppers to minimize seams as well as include extra vent holes. Reducing seams eliminates possible areas of pressure and potential discomfort. The micrometric system S.L.W. 2 (Speed Lace Winch) represents the evolution of the closure system delivering maximum precision and comfort. The innovative step by step closure means you can tighten or loosen the fit in a few seconds while riding. The side button provides a dual function. Pressing it allows a slight loosening. Lifting it allows a complete and immediate opening of the shoe. The dial has been completely redesigned in size and weight, resulting in being significantly lighter and thinner and its low-profile nature makes it more aero than a buckle.
