These products dig in a lot better than a foam roller, because of the smaller diameter. The padding, essentially carefully wrapped Ace bandages take the edge off the pain that comes from concentrating your body weight on a small, already-spasmed muscle. One weak point. The manufacturer want you to roll in a very specific way: two inches forward, one inch back. If you ignore this, the rollers will start to disassemble themselves over time. Since they’re far from cheap, that sucks. They come with an instructional booklet and video. The booklet is more useful.
