The Shimano Ultegra WH-6700 wheelset has a lot to offer at a very reasonable price. It is both tubeless and clincher compatible so the WH-6700 wheelset is ideal for the rider wanting to try tubeless tires. Tubeless tires offer very good ride quality and great pinch-flat protection. In addition to regular road riding, the WH-6700 can be used with tubeless cyclocross tires allowing lowers inflation pressure to achieve excellent traction.
The WH-6700 wheelset has all the characteristics of Shimano's latest wheels including durability, ride quality, and lightweight. Straight pull spokes are used with a slightly less-butted spoke on the rear drive side. This lets Shimano custom-tune the ride for comfort over the bumps and solid performance for climbs and sprints. The alloy rim is light and strong as expected while the hubs are easily serviced with standard tools.
The Shimano Ultegra WH-6700 wheels are fully compatible with Shimano 8, 9, and 10 speed systems (as well as SRAM) unlike some Shimano wheels of the past that were ten-speed only. Get Shimano built quality, 8, 9, 10 speed Shimano compatibility all in a 1652 gram wheelset.

I've had these for three or four years and have been looking for an upgrade. What I've been finding is that it's hard to find anything significantly faster, for less than three times the price, that doesn't have durability issues. I keep hearing about breaking spokes and cracked rims and hubs that won't stay tight. I've got a ton of miles on my Ultegra's and haven't had s speck of trouble. They look good. Weight is low for the price. Bomb proof.
Pros: fantastic value
Cons: you can go faster for three times the price
High rolling resistance ( makes you slower). Great control and stability on technical downhill. Definitely not for racing.
Unclear about the high rolling resistance?? - ed
Good value and being able to run tubeless tires is a bonus, but heavy. They make a great training and/or CX wheel, but wouldn't race on them
Pros: value, can run tubeless
Cons: heavy
Love the way these wheels ride. They were a good price and an easy way for me to get into a tubeless set up. I have now run them both tubeless and non-tubeless with no issues. I prefer the way tubeless rides, although I wish there was a larger tire selection.
Pros: Good value, durable and ride quality
Cons: Not quite Dura-Ace
I dont have a lot of miles on these. When Shimano designed these, they seemed to be using the Mavic Ksyrium Elite as their target. The rims are similar, the weights comparable, and the list price is about the same. One big difference is that the Ultegra is often on sale for considerably less, making it a real bargain. I prefer the old school, almost retro, look of the Ultegra. Their look would go best with a titanium or steel frame, where as the Mavic look a bit out of place. Overall, they seem pretty fast and high quality for the price. A good upgrade for many medium priced bikes and a good fit if you are puting together a new Ultegra equiped bike.
