Once again Castelli proves they can dominate the price point-performance bib short category with the Velocissimo Due (say: velo-chee'-simo do-ay) It's done through careful fabric selection, anatomically correct patterns, perfect Italian styling cues and the inclusion of the Kiss3 chamois. In the value per performance category, the Velocissimo has no equal.
The Velocissimo is constructed from 10 panels of Affinity 210g Lycra. This fabric gives the garment great muscle compression and support with plenty of stretch and rebound. Affinity 210 also offers excellent moisture wicking capacity. The fact that it has 10 panels of this material means the fit is perfected to that of a tailored garment. There will be no sagging or bunching of material or fabric. Simply put, it fit, feels and performs like a bib short that is twice its price. And that is what we call value.
The Velocissimo uppers are almost identical to the upper end Free Aero Race bibs. This means the upper section is wide and open in the front of your body, void of any excess material leaving you with maximum ventilation by simply having no material present. The rear has a slight rise from the rear lower panel for added support of the chamois and lower back. Taking care of business at the other end of the garment is Castelli's Giro3 leg grippers. This proven design provides a natural extension and termination of the garment on your thighs. The Giro3 gripper also manages to stay attached to your thigh without binding or applying too much pressure.
As mentioned the Kiss3 chamois was chosen for chamois duty. This quality insert has been used by many pro riders due to the amount of comfort and moisture control it offers a rider. The Kiss3 features seamless integrated technology that has soft fabric on the skin care layer on top that is lined with 4mm of soft foam for additional comfort. The Kiss3 employs infinite shaping of the high density foam to make sure the right support is located where it is most required.
