Castelli has taken the highly successful Body Paint shorts to the next level in this 2.0 version to create Castelli's most comfortable and most aerodynamic short. They started by further developing the engineered knit construction made famous in the original Body Paint. Then they added aero dimples on the leg and mesh at the back, and integrating an improved leg gripper system. The Women's Progetto X2 seat pad gets some small tweaks after another million kilometers of pro testing this year, including improved airflow for faster drying.

The Castelli Body Paint shorts were developed with the goal of creating a bibshort so comfortable it virtually disappears around the rider. A single piece of Power Stretch Lycra is joined with just one seam in the front allowing the shorts to fit like a comfortable sock. Invisible Giro3 leg grippers discreetly hold the shorts in place on the legs with perfect snugness and no chafing.

The Castelli Body Paint short employ the Progetto X2 chamois that, like the shorts, is designed to disappear beneath the rider. It has two distinct components. A skin care layer is bacteriostatic, soft, stretchy, seamless and is designed to prevent chafing. The cushioning layer features variable thickness with extra viscous padding beneath the sit bones and perineum. Members of the Excel Sports Crew have found these short to be some of the most comfortable they have tried.
