After a brief hiatus from trigger shifter technology, Shimano put their efforts into Dual Control style levers. The idea never quite took off, so Shimano came back for round two with the trigger style shifter. Shimano went back to their engineers and produced what many consider the best trigger shifter design to date.

The biggest improvement being in the upper lever functions. this lever operates in both directions. The rider can push forward on both triggers - push-push as with SRAM or original Shimano triggers or pull back on the top lever for a pull-push action - simply brilliant. To add to that when your under stress and really need a lower gear, Shimano has fitted the bottom lever with a giant, polished alloy oversized paddle. Shifter kit includes one pair of Teflon coated cables and XTR housing, end caps and ferrules.
