XX1 is a huge success in terms of a world cup raceable group that offers big benefits like the lightest weight and super reliable, fast shifts with no chain drop. The XX1 chainring is one of the engineering cornerstones of the group. SRAM offers 6 chainrings so you can match your terrain, wheel size and riding style.

SRAM engineers looked into the causes of chain drop and video analysis showed side to side movement was the main culprit. They came up with a CNC-machined, wide tooth, narrow tooth pattern which perfectly mates with the XX1 chain for a snug fit. This X-Sync™ profile also includes slight taller, squared-off teeth that makes chain drop virtually non-existent.

XX1 chainrings are threaded and stepped for a light and solid connection to the XX1 crank. The chainrings can be swapped without removing the crank. You can likely go up or down one size with the same chain, but grab another chain if your jump is two or more sizes.
