The Assos iJ.shaQuno is a full cold weather garment that is brought in at a lower price point than the Bonka and Fugu range of winter garments.
The shaQuno features a unique double-face construction. This means there are two specific layers combined in one jacket. Next to the body, one layer is made of the RX soft wicking fleece that contours to your shape. This layer offers good insulation and excellent moisture wicking capacity. The second and outer layer a body-mapped protection shell to protect you from cold air, wind and the outside elements. What's interesting is that these two layers are not bonded, but strategically attached, creating a sensation of total freedom of movement. Also, the size of the layers are slightly different, so it creates an air chamber between the layers that functions as a heat regulating system. Excess moisture is transferred effectively to the outside by the jacket's ventilation system.
Assos employs their proven AEPD, Advanced Ergonomic Pattern Design concept to make the garment fit like a second skin. When you first put the shaQuno jacket on, you will notice they pull in certain areas and the fabric around the back of your shoulders and sides tend to sag. When you get on the bike and assume the cycling position, the garment transforms into a second skin. You can have you cycling clothes fit when your sedentary or when you're cycling, you cannot have both. Assos chose the latter and it works like a charm.
