With the 45mm rim depth the rims are still light, resulting in an overall weight of 1480 grams for the wheelset, the Black Fifty is considered by many as best of class and a top choice in the all-around, mid-profile disc brake wheelset category. The perfected 45mm profile provides a significant aerodynamic advantage, at a weight that is still plenty light enough when the road tilts up. Black Ink's high-modulus carbon rim features their proprietary CFD mapped profile which is perfect for just about any riding environment and is tubeless ready. The standard 17mm internal width and 27mm outer work seamlessly with 25c and 28c tires to produce a square sidewall for improved handling and airflow. The CeramicSpeed hubset features cold forged hub shells with super-smooth ceramic bearings and a completely serviceable freehub body. The hubs are Shimano Center Lock compatible and laced to the Black Fifty carbon rim with Sapim CX Ray straight-pull spokes.
