Description
The Clutch Comp solves the bottle cage problem on small frames and full-suspension mountain bikes where traditional top-loading cages don't work. The side-entry design lets you pull your bottle out horizontally rather than straight up, which matters when your frame triangle barely has room for a bottle in the first place. Available in left or right entry configurations, so you can set up the cage based on which side of your frame has clearance and which hand you prefer to grab your bottle with.
The cage body is made from recycled plastic with a reinforced structure that keeps bottles secure on rough terrain. The mounting hardware includes slotted bolt holes with 30 millimeters of vertical adjustment, which lets you dial in the exact position to clear rear shocks, linkages, or dropper post routing. This adjustment range is the difference between a cage that works and one that interferes with your suspension travel. If you've struggled to fit a bottle on your bike, this is probably what you need.
The Clutch Comp shares the same core design features as Blackburn's carbon Clutch cage but uses a composite construction to hit a lower price point. The side-entry mechanism holds bottles firmly but releases them smoothly when you pull horizontally. The cage works with standard-diameter bottles and the open design allows easy cleaning after muddy rides. At 37 grams, it's light enough to not add noticeable weight while providing a functional solution for challenging frame geometries.
