The Campagnolo Record front derailleur features a carbon fiber outer cage new inner cage improves rigidity for increased stiffness and faster shifting performance. More space has been included to reduce the need to feather the front shifter when several shifts are made in the rear.

Perhaps the biggest improvement is lighter shifting effort with a more precise feel. Campagnolo has taken a page from other manufacturers and increased the length of the pinch bolt arm. This increased mechanical advantage means less pressure is required at the lever and shifting speed is increased for almost EPS performance in a mechanical front derailleur. A new S2 secure shifting system is designed to support the derailleur against the frame which eliminates cage flex.

For the best functionality, Campagnolo recommends matching 2015 and newer shifters, derailleurs, bottom bracket cups and cranks. This newest generation of parts will feature a squared letter, which in the case of the front derailleur, is located on the frame side of the inner cage.
