The Idro is powered by Gore-Tex® Active is the most breathable Gore-Tex® ever made, has permanent water repellency and folds down to fill just half a pocket. On top of that, the fabric includes ShakeDry™ surface technology, on which water beads up immediately and shakes off with just a little movement, so water won't stand on the fabric.

The anatomic race, close to the body fit of the Idro stresses a true cycling position from moderately to highly aggressive. The long back, sleeves, and collar offer comprehensive protection for cyclists, with sealed seams finishing out the main construction. This is a piece that can be your sole wind and water barrier, and can be carried or used in all seasons. A sealed zippered rear pocket with a tug pull, accessed from the right side, also seals out water, protecting your belongings. YKK supplies their excellent waterproof Vislon zipper for the front, hem to top of neck. A soft red band inside the neck prevents chafing.

We wish this was a jacket for every cyclist, because every cyclist would love it, but the Idro will favor the slim, tapered builds of racing cyclists. Follow Castelli's sizing chart, but size up if in doubt, especially if you would like to be able to wear it over a mid-weight longsleeve jersey in cooler weather. This is the lightest, and to date best Castelli - GoreTex collaboration. The performance, protection, weight, and packability will blow you away, and the Idro is way more durable for every day use than you'd ever expect. While certainly not inexpensive, the Castelli Idro Jacket may just be the best value jacket on the market when you consider the incredible capabilities and use expectancy.
